Get Acquainted with the Forestland in Whatcom County
There are a couple ways that you can do this. The best way is to get out and explore the forest for yourself, observe the intricacies of the myriad natural systems at work first hand. Walking through the forest engages all of the senses in a way that is unique from any article you could read, video clip you could watch, or picture you could observe. You can do this on a guided nature walk, with a friend, with a dog, or even on your own.
All of these resources, particularly the Forest Service, can provide some insight into the negative impacts of human activity on our local forests. They can also describe to you what's at stake if the land isn't properly conserved and protected.
